FULHAM SW6

Tournay House

Tournay House, is situated off the ever-popular North End Road in Fulham. It is a modern brick building comprised of residential flats which sit above a row of retail units on the ground floor.

Murnells was commissioned to add a further five flats to the existing structure. The enabling works involved relocating the existing air conditioning units, to allow for the installation of scaffolding, and the build of a temporary steel roof to ensure safe and all-weather working.

The new flats are supported off an independent steel frame, sited directly onto the existing steel structure. The new frame is infilled with timber frame panelled walls with insulating cladding, ensuring lightweight yet thermally efficient new homes. New air conditioning units, as well as the originals, are located on the roof structure, completing the scheme.

The build required a seamless continuation of the existing design aesthetic, plus adept engineering to ensure uninterrupted air conditioning to the original properties sitting beneath the new flats. Contemporary internal fit outs, delivered with care and craftmanship added to the rentability of these well-located homes.
