Dilke Street

Just one block away from the River Thames, in the highly desirable post code of SW3, Murnells has been commissioned to fully demolish an end of terrace town house and build a new home in keeping with the Victorian style of this exclusive London district.

A cottage and standalone block of flats at the side of the original house have also been demolished and are being replaced with a contemporary development of flats.

Works are taking place in a highly constrained site that has complicated access challenges, and within limited working hours to be respectful of residents in neighbouring properties.

We supported the adjoining property to this end of terrace house with substantial temporary steel works, enabling us to establish the new basement consisting of 160 concrete piles, and the appropriate reinforced concrete walls. Proximity to the River Thames required use of a specialist pump to mitigate flooding risks.

Modern heating and insulation systems have also been installed in the four-bedroom main house and in the accompanying one- and two-bedroom flats. All have bespoke joinery and high-end bathroom and kitchen fits outs ensuring highly luxurious living environments.
